Spring and Summer often gets stormy. What storms or disasters could be heading your way? Our focus today is Go-Bags and comes from Mike Mundy (San Rafael Branch). If you had to abandon your home now, today, what do you take with you?

I’ve been asked for help figuring out what should go in the go-bag. It’s good to have a reasonable scenario in mind or you’ll never stop packing. Cast off the idea of surviving off grid in the wilderness, living off the land & shooting your way out.

Consider packing for this situation: You have to leave your home & walk to a gathering place in the rain. You may be there two nights & three days before you can get back into your home. So, you need to provide, wear & carry your own:

• Poncho, coat, walking shoes
• Fresh clothes & shoes
• Toiletries & meds & first aide
• Shelter for privacy & storage of your stuff
• Sleeping accessories
• Food, mess kit & means to heat some meals.
• Means to purify water.
• Ability to make minor repairs
• ID, Insurance & Med Info. Contacts. Local map
• Cash
• Flashlight
• Backup battery
• Whistle, Pepper spray
