A new bishopric was called on Sunday, September 14, 2025, in the Shoal Creek Valley Ward in the Liberty Missouri Stake. Alan Williams was called as bishop, with Chad Truman as first counselor and Cody Allen as second counselor.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to serve the members of the Shoal Creek Valley Ward and our deaf community,” Bishop Williams said. “I have been amazed at the peace that I have felt with this new calling, as Heavenly Father has helped me feel a portion of the love that He has for you. If you are willing, He wants you to be a little uncomfortable so you can choose to turn to Him and see His hand in your life as you learn and grow spiritually.”

Bishop Andrew Malan was released after five faithful years of service. Please join us in sending him and his family thanks for their service.

The Shoal Creek Valley Ward first started as a branch in 2004. Jeremiah Morgan was called as the first and only branch president, as the branch was turned into a ward during his tenure, and he became the first bishop. Do you know who the second bishop was? Hint, he also served in the stake presidency.
