Which apostle would you have for dinner?: Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Why would you invite him?:  I would choose to have dinner with Elder Uchdorf. I love how he uses his personal experiences to make complex spiritual principles relatable, and easy to remember. His talks over the years have helped to strengthen my faith and desire to be a true disciple of Christ. I appreciate his humble and loving approach….and let’s not forget that awesome accent. I was especially grateful for what he taught us in his recent talk, “Nourish the Roots, and the Branches Will Grow.” He said, “If you want to nourish a tree, you don’t splash water on the branches. You water the roots. Similarly, if you want the branches of your testimony to grow and bear fruit, nourish the roots. If you are uncertain about a particular doctrine or practice or element of Church history, seek clarity with faith in Jesus Christ. Seek to understand His sacrifice for you, His love for you, His will for you. Follow Him in humility. The branches of your testimony will draw strength from your deepening faith in Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son.” This talk helped me find answers to how I could strengthen my own testimony.

Which apostle would you have for dinner?: Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Why would you invite him?: The way he speaks really resonates with me—he has a lighthearted, humorous style that makes learning important lessons feel less heavy. I’ve never liked taking life too seriously, so his approach helps me connect with deeper truths while still keeping things enjoyable. On top of that, his accent adds a unique charm, and his wholesome upbringing makes him even more relatable.

George Albert Smith

Which apostle would you have for dinner?: George Albert Smith

Why would you invite him?: I had the blessing of teaching Relief Society the year we used the Teachings of George Albert Smith manual. I fell in love with that great man! One of my favorite things was learning he had to be institutionalized for depression twice in his life, one of those times while he was the Prophet. He felt so relatable and real after that. To have someone with such struggles still be of great use to the Lord gives me so much hope through my many weaknesses and shortcomings.
