The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Liberty, Missouri
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is divided up into geographical areas called stakes. This is similar to a dioceses in the Catholic Church. In the Kansas City area there are several stakes, including ours — The Liberty Missouri Stake.
Each stake has several leadership teams to help serve the members of our church. Each leader is a non-paid volunteer, and many hold full-time jobs in addition to these service assignments. These volunteer positions are called callings, and members of our congregations take turns being leaders. Our current stake leaders are the following:
Stake Presidency
The stake presidency consists of a president and two counselors, clerks and secretaries. These leaders typically serve for around nine years and help lead and guide the stake. Randall Cramer, first counselor; Matthew Russell, president; and Brody Perschon, second counselor. Matt Stadler and Jeffrey Coltrin serve as stake clerks, Tucker VanYpren, Joe Christensen and Scott Goddard serve as secretaries.
High Council
The high council consists of 12 men. These leaders typically serve for around three years and help advise and guide the stake. The high council is comprised of the following members: Isaac Ames, Matthew Austin, Bryan Backenstoss, David Bunnell, Daniel Campbell, Brian Edholm, Paul Farnsworth, Andrew Malan, Kurt Nielsen, David Norris, Elliot Seibold and Wayne Swearingen.
Relief Society Presidency
The Relief Society is the womens’ group in our church. The stake Relief Society presidency consists of a president and two counselors and a secretary. These leaders typically serve for around three years and help lead and guide the stake. Jenner Porter currently as president, Marjorie McKinney as first counselor, Laurie Jacobus as second counselor and Jenny Wirt as secretary.
Young Women's Presidency
The Young Women’s presidency serves with the young women’s group in our church. The stake Young Women’s presidency consists of a president and two counselors and a secretary. These leaders typically serve for around three years and help lead and guide the stake.
Hannah Aiono currently serves as president, Samantha Ransom as first counselor, Randi Sue Adams as second counselor and Carmen Watson as secretary.
Young Men's Presidency
The Young Men’s presidency serves with the young men’s group in our church. The stake Young Men’s presidency consists of a president and two counselors and a secretary. These leaders typically serve for around three years and help lead and guide the stake.
Isaac Ames currently serves as president, Allen Jones as first counselor, Stephen Jamison as second counselor and Scott Mehr as secretary.
Primary Presidency
The Primary presidency serves with the children’s group in our church. The stake Primary presidency consists of a president and two counselors and a secretary. These leaders typically serve for around three years and help lead and guide the stake.
Natalie Bergin currently serves as president, Nicole Austin as first counselor, Kimberlee Ames as second counselor and Melody Armstrong as secretary.
