The Liberty Missouri Stake is launching Self-Reliance courses this fall to help members and friends become more self-reliant and strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ. These courses offer practical skills and spiritual growth, empowering participants to handle life’s challenges with greater confidence.

“The Lord has declared, ‘It is my purpose to provide for my saints.’ This revelation promises temporal blessings and unlocks self-reliance – our ability to provide for ourselves and our families.” – First Presidency of the Church

The Liberty Stake Presidency emphasizes the importance of self-reliance, both spiritually and practically, through covenants with Jesus Christ. All are invited to participate and increase their spiritual and practical skills.

Participants will learn to exercise greater faith, prioritize their time, gain an eternal perspective, and improve their capacity for success.

Since 2017, over 660 adults and 200 youth have completed a Self-Reliance course, reporting overwhelmingly positive experiences. Participants value the connections made with their action partners, felt the influence of the Holy Ghost, deepened their relationship with Jesus Christ, and gained valuable life tools.

Participant Testimonials:

  • “I obtained a greater understanding of relying on the Lord and gained a more personal sense of His ability to help me in all things, including my finances.”

  • “I did indeed receive the answers I was seeking. The Self-Reliance course was a catalyst for me to take action on inspiration and receive help from the Lord.”

  • A youth participant shared that the Emotional Resilience course helped her to deepen her testimony of Jesus Christ, learn life skills, and develop deep friendships.
